About the Project

The Beukers Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Beukers name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the SRNM name.

As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Beukers'), by time period (18th Century Beukers), or by topic (Beukers DNA, Beukers Occupations, Beukers Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

At the registration of the birth of Franciscus Beukers on 14-01-1835 in Hof van Delft, NL an error occurred, when the clerk registered the name as Buckers . The first time Frans knew anything about it, was when he got called up for military service. He claimed he was not Buckers. Although the error was then demonstrated, nothing was done to correct it. All Franciscus Beukers's decendants now live on as BUCKERS.

Hi! I created the companion category for your name study (Category:Beukers Name Study). Feel free to edit it. The default for the template is to add the main category, but you can add a line to have a different category. See the ONS template page for details. Give me a holler if you have any questions about categorization.

I also created a redirect, so Project:Beukers (the link for the button from the Beukers surname page) brings you to this page.

Cheers, Liz

P.S. if you wanted to delete this comment, that's fine. It would make the previous post more visible.

The name has changed many times as a result of migration within national borders and into other language countries . Especially before Napoleon's introduction of a fixed surname.

Through errors in spelling by clerks in registry offices.
